Wylie Smith

NORTH CHARLESTON-Wylie Smith, 75, of North Charleston, husband of Elsie Mains Smith, died Friday, December 14, 2012 at his daughter's home in Holly Hill. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Hanahan. A long time resident of Ferndale in North Charleston, Wylie was a son of Chesley Smith and Mary Wise Smith. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Elsie Mains Smith of the home; daughters, Charlene Smith Grooms of Eutawville and Michelle Smith Campbell of Holly Hill; sons, Wylie Christopher Smith of Jamestown, and Timothy Charles Smith of North Charleston; brothers, Larry Lamar Smith and John Wayne Williams of North Charleston; 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
