Wilmer Jay Oswalt Jr. also known as “Pops” was born on January 8,1930. He passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side on July 7, 2018. He lived full life and shared his love with everyone he met. On March 20, 1953 he married the love of his life, Mable. He was born in Mishawaka Indiana to Wilmer Jay Oswalt Sr. and Mary Toombs Oswalt and was a resident of Elloree, South Carolina the last 24 years, He was retired from Simplicity Pattern in Niles Michigan. Wilmer honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a man dedicated to his faith, family, and friends, He also loved to go fishing. He was a dedicated member of the Fellowship Baptist Church for the past 14 years and always had his Bible in arm’s reach.
Wilmer is survived by his son Alfred Oswalt of Bristol IN, and Gordon Elliott of Elloree South Carolina, granddaughter, Julie Thompson and great-granddaughter, Mariah Thompson and many loving neighbors and friends. He will be greatly missed. Wilmer was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Mable Oswalt
Grandpa Oswalt was wonderful role model. His guiding, love, and amazing memories will carry us through until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church on 886 Pickett Level Rd. Elloree S.C. 29047.
Military Honors will be rendered at 7:00 PM, prior to the Service.
