William Bayly Massenburg

William Bayly Massenburg, 81 of Holly Hill, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023. 

Born on June 30, 1941 in New Orleans, LA was a son of the late Margaret Keckeley Massenburg and Ringold Massenburg.

Bayly graduated from Holly Hill High School and attended Clemson College. He served in the United States Air Force for twelve years before moving back to Holly Hill. Bayly worked as an Instrument Technician at Santee Cement Company until retirement.  He was a founding member of the Holly Hill Volunteer Rescue Squad and served many years as an EMT.  

Bayly enjoyed NASCAR racing and was an avid Clemson fan.  He was well known for fixing computers, installing CB radios and was a proud member of the Mayflower Society.

Bayly is survived by his sons, Eric Massenburg (Paula) of Statesville, NC, Paul Massenburg (Jane) of Santee, Todd Massenburg (Lyn) of Seneca; grandchildren, Meagan Waylett (Cole) and their children, Maddox, Crew, and Merrick, Ryan Massenburg (Brooke) and their children Lydia and Mason, Julia Massenburg, Myra Massenburg, Michael Massenburg, and Marc Massenburg; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Miller of Holly Hill: nephew, Guy Miller (Melanie) and a niece Debra Burritt (David).

Bayly is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty years, Kathryn Tucker Massenburg; two half-brothers, Severn Massenburg and Philip Massenburg; a nephew, Mark Miller, and his second wife, Norma Taylor Massenburg.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2PM at the Holly Hill Cemetery, in Holly Hill. The family will receive friends after the service.
