Wilbur Daniel Scott, 81, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, husband to Gean Russell Scott of 50 years, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 3, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born on February 21, 1940 in Holly Hill, South Carolina, Wilbur was a son of the late Jacob Scott and Drewy Platt Scott.
Wilbur was a minister for 20 years in the Church of God of Prophecy, he enjoyed building things of wood, working in the yard with flowers and spending time with his family. Wilbur will be remembered by many for his kindness and his loving nature. His favorite saying was, If I cannot be with my family, then I prefer to be with the Lord.
Wilbur is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chucky Scott and his sisters, Maxine Chandler and Ida Mae Russell. In addition to his wife, Wilbur is survived by his son, Daniel Scott (Linda) of Ridgeville, SC; his daughters, Jennifer Johnson (Kizer) of Holly Hill, SC and Robin Galarza (Enrique) of Tampa, FL; his sisters, Bob Kinsey (George) of Georgia and Peggy Scott of Holly Hill; his brothers, Jacob Scott of Charleston and Tony Scott of Holly Hill; his eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
A gathering of Wilbur's family and friends for a time of reflection will be at 12:00 P.M. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 2575 Camden Road in Holly Hill 29059. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the church with Reverend Frank Graham and Reverend Ted Muckelvaney, officiating. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow the services where he will be laid to rest in the Scott Family Cemetery in Holly Hill.
