Sylvia Kizer

Sylvia Jane Kizer, 82 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Born on November 5, 1941 in Spartanburg, South Carolina Sylvia was a daughter of the late Josephine Scott Martin and Ernest Marvin Givens.

Sylvia was a cosmetologist for many years. She loved the lake and the beach. Sylvia traveled and participated in many shagging competitions and enjoyed playing golf. Sylvia loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Frank Kizer in 1995 formerly of Holly Hill; her sister, Jo Ann Oswald Caldwell, and her brother, Rev. James Rutland.

Sylvia is survived by her sons, Robbie Simons (Deb), Lee Simons; a sister, Patsy Coleman (Bill); grandchildren, Ryan Simons, Brad Simons, Bryce Simons, and Kayleigh Simons; and great grandchildren, Brayden Simons, Payton Simons, and Aubrey Simons.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11am at the Holly Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
