Ruby DeHay Weatherford, 81, widow of J. P. "Boots" Weatherford, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, December 28 at Sandridge Baptist Church with Rev. Owen Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home. Friends may also call the Rembert Singletary residence, 8161 State Rd, Holly Hill. Mrs. Weatherford was born in Pinopolis a daughter of the late Estelle Hill DeHay and Ellis Hurd DeHay. She was a 1954 graduate of Cross High School, a loyal member of Sandridge Baptist Church and the WMU. She enjoyed traveling and her favorite place to visit was Edisto Beach. She was known as "Nannie" to her great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a sister Edna Starks. Survivors are a daughter, Kathy (Leon) Hogan of Columbia; sons, Kenneth (Peggy) Weatherford of Holly Hill, and Ernest (Julie) Weatherford of Pinopolis; sisters, Betty (Robert) Singletary and Janice (Johnny) Hutto, both of Holly Hill; a brother, Buddy DeHay of St. Steven; grandchildren, Lee (Lauren) Hogan of Chapin, Joy (Stephen) Gallo of Lexington, Ken Weatherford of Holly Hill, Kelli Widener of Holly Hill, and Ernest Weatherford, Jr. and Chasity Weatherford, both of Pinopolis; great-grandchildren, Hunter Spell, Mason, Lois, and Eli Widener, Sara and Cate Hogan, John and Hogan Gallo.
