Richard Calvin Myers was born April 28, 1949 in Saint George, South Carolina to Harold Lewis and Fairy Claire (Mallard) Myers. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness on February 2, 2025.

Richard graduated from Holly Hill High School in 1967. He went on to attend Clemson University, majoring in Animal Husbandry and served in the U.S Army and Air National Guard.

After selling fertilizer for a time, he farmed in South Carolina and Virginia for many years. He was very entrepreneurial and remained self-employed through various occupations. He finished his working career renovating bathtubs/ bathrooms for many clients. He was known as the “Carolina Bathtub King”. Even then, he was working one or more sidelines. He had a passion for gardening and his chickens. He was a dog lover and an amazing chef. In his later years, he became a self- taught artist and found it very enjoyable.

Richard is survived by his wife Judi Philips Myers, daughter Carol Sublett (Andrew Osborne), son Brian (Tiffany), brother Fred, and sister Merrill (Arnold), 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by; his parents, older brother Harold L. Myers Jr., his first wife Anne Padgett Myers, and sister-in-law Juanita Smith Myers.

A Memorial Service was held March 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Eutawville Cemetery.
