Rev. John F. Mitchell

HOLLY HILL - Rev. John Frederick Mitchell, 85, of Holly Hill, husband of Annette Mitchell died Sunday, October 19, 2014. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sandridge Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne McNeill officiating. Burial, with military rites, will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Mitchell was born in Pleasant Point, ME, a son of the late Nowell Tomah and Christina Mitchell Tomah. He was retired from the Air Force and a retired Baptist Minister. Rev. Mitchell was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Ann Mitchell and a son, John Frederick Mitchell, Jr. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Alvera Farrell of Pleasant Point, ME; brothers, Newell Tomah of New York, and Frank Tomah of Indian Township, ME; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Sandridge First Baptist Church, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472.
