Patricia Hutto

HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Patricia "Patty" Varner Hutto, 80, of Holly Hill, widow of R. Wyman Hutto, died Monday, August 20, 2012 in a North Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Holly Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. Mrs. Hutto was born in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Leonard W. Varner and Lucille Murray Varner. She was a graduate of Holly Hill High School and attended Winthrop College. Mrs. Hutto was a former employee of First National Bank of SC, and was a partner with her husband in the operation of Dixie Cleaners. A member of the Ivy Garden Club, she also was an active member of Holly Hill UMC, and the "Tootsie" Varnadore Circle at the church. She enjoyed sewing for her granddaughters, and was preceded in death by a sister, Lodie "Tootsie" Varnadore. Surviving are daughters, Patricia Caldwell of Charleston, Rose H. Bozard of St. Matthews, and Jean Wyman (Bobby) Harris of Eutawville; sons, Robbie (Mary) Mims of Holly Hill, and Robert Hutto, Jr. of Charleston; a brother, L.W. Varner, Jr. of Falls Church, Va.; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home.
