Minnie Lee Lambert Watkins

SANTEE - Mrs. Minnie Lee Lambert Watkins, 92, of Santee, widow of James Edward Watkins, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 12 noon Friday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown. The family will receive friend at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. Mrs. Watkins was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late John Aaron Lambert and Minnie Polk Lambert. She retired as a school cafeteria supervisor. Mrs. Watkins was a member of St. Matthews Church of God and was a Sunday School teacher for a number of years. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Watkins. Surviving are daughters, Clara Bell (Larry) Jackson of Christmas, Fla., Patsy (Richard) Clemons of Santee, and Mertice Manning of Ashland, KY ; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
