Mary P. Kirby

EUTAWVILLE - Mrs. Mary Pendarvis Kirby, 91, of Eutawville, widow of Samuel T. Kirby, Jr., died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Rev. Marshall Locke and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. this Tuesday evening at Avinger Funeral Home. Mrs. Kirby was the daughter of Talley J. Pendarvis and Dewey Sally Arant Pendarvis. She was a graduate of Furman University and a retired school teacher. Mrs. Kirby was a member of First Baptist Church, Holly Hill where she was a long-time Sunday School Teacher. She was preceded in death by her children, Samuel T. Kirby III and Elizabeth K. Connolly. Surviving are granddaughters, Anne Kirby of Elloree, and Mary Penn Kirby (Tora Nichols) of Eutawville; great-grandchildren, Bradley Samuel Wagers, Abbigale Elizabeth Kirby, Madison Rose Nichols, Grace James, Jaidyn Sexton, and Elizabeth Nichols. The family would like to thank Piedmont Hospice for their care and concern for Mrs. Kirby.
