Lucille Hilton " Lu Lu " Meree, 67, of Holly Hill, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Born on May 13, 1954 in Charleston, Lucille was a daughter of Chester Lee Hilton and Dorothy Elizabeth (Brown) Hilton.
Lulu grew up on a farm with her family of many siblings, they came to understand the simple values of family and hard work. She worked as a housewife and a caregiver who loved children. She was a member of the Great Victory Church of God in Holly Hill. She will be remembered by her family as a simple lady with a Huge Loving Heart.
Lu Lu is preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Jesse Beckett, John Beckett and Lawton Beckett; her sister, Annie Lee Cox; her favorite aunt, Exie Hilton Lamb and her former husband, Larry Watson. Those will most cherish her memory are her children, William T. Meree, Jr. (Tammy), Dale Meree (Teresa), Mark Meree (Stephanie) and Sherry Meree Zunun (Fili). her sisters, Milly Steen, Lorrain Culley, Doris Louise Bishop, Shirley Beckett, Gloria Harmon, Carolyn Hilton, Debbie Rowland and Marie Hilton. Her brothers, Chester Hilton, Walter Hilton and Larry Hilton. Her grandchildren, Cody Meree, Joshua Vandawaye, Kyle Meree, Shelby Meree, Jackson Locklear, Gracie Meree, Timothy Meree, Kaylea Brown, Daniel Murray, Jordan Neblett, Alex Neblett, Michael Evans, Abigail Meree, Antonio Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez, Roberto Rodriguez, Andrea Cruz and Anthonie Benton. Lu Lu is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, step children, step grandchildren, and god children as well as numerous members of her extended family.
Lu Lu's family and friends will gather from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road in Holly Hill. Funeral services to remember and honor her life will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. Officiating will be Reverend Phillip Rowland and Pastor Molly Varner. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow services at the Eutawville Cemetery in Eutawville where she will be laid to rest next to her aunt and her parents.
