HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Louise Raymond Mears, 89, of Holly Hill, wife of Homer D. Mears, Sr., died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in a North Charleston hospital. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. Ron Heddle officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Harris, Bryan Harris, Bubba Harris, Chris Mears, Dale Mears, and Neil Breland. Mrs. Mears was born in Hardeeville, SC, a daughter of the late John Harry Raymond and Mae McDonald Raymond. She was a partner with her husband in the former Holly Hill Furniture Co., and she was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Mears was an accomplished golfer and enjoyed flower gardening. She and her husband were married for 70 years. In addition to her husband, surviving are a daughter, Barbara Ann (Neil) Breland of North Augusta; sons, Homer D. Mears, Jr. of Holly Hill, and Harry (Annette) Mears of St. Helena Island; a sister, Margaret Cox of Hardeeville; seven grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this Friday at Avinger Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
