SANTEE - Leerie Chesnutt Thomas, 97, of Santee, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at her daughter's home in Santee. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Minor officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Concord Cemetery in Ludowici, GA. Leerie was born in Ludowici, GA, a daughter of the late James Seymore Chesnutt and Nancy Emily McClamb. She was a retired seamstress and she enjoyed making afghans for her family. Surviving are daughters, Mary (Garland) Smith of Ludowici, and Margaret (Bill) Davis of Santee; nine grandchildren; and a number of great and great-great grandchildren.
