EUTAWVILLE - Julius C. Weatherford, 87, of Eutawville, widower of Myrtle W. Weatherford, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his daughter's home in Cottageville. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George "Buck" Reeves and Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. Julius was born in Berkeley County, a son of the late Press Curtis Weatherford and Lovie Clark Weatherford. He was a Marine Corps veteran and retired from Utica Tool in Orangeburg. Julius was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Holly Hill, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Weatherford and a daughter, Myrtle Ann Weatherford. Surviving are daughters, Elaine Nesbitt of Eutawville, and Faye (Buck) Reeves of Cottageville; sons, George Weatherford of Vance, James (Debbie) Weatherford and Ernest (Kim) Weatherford, both of Eutawville; sisters, Maggie Dukes of Beaufort, and Janie Martin of Eutawville; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
