Judy Sweatman Scott

Judy S. Scott, 74 of Holly Hill, South Carolina, Wife of Gene Scott, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Born on May 29, 1948 in Orangeburg, SC Judy was a Daughter of the late Margie Faulling Sweatman and Harold "Bub" Sweatman.

Judy worked for many years at her family-owned businesses Scott's Grocery and Sweatman's BBQ while also being a homemaker.  She loved her flowers and working in her yard.  Judy and Gene loved to travel to the mountains and camping. She mostly enjoyed entertaining her family and friends at her home.

Judy is survived by her husband, Gene; daughters, Carolyn Storie (Chuck) of Holly Hill and Amy Bunch (Wayne) of Boiling Springs; granddaughter, Chelsea Bunch Cobb (Tim) of Chesnee; great granddaughters, Ryleigh and Madelyn Cobb; sisters, Susan Sweatman French of Holly Hill and Tricia Sweatman Wolpert (Gary) of Holly Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Butch Sweatman and Al Sweatman; nephews, Travis Sweatman and Paul Wolpert; and her furry companion, Nina.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home.  Services will follow at 2PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will conclude at Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bunch, Tim Cobb, Stevie Bunch, Patrick Weatherford, Bill Sweatman, and John Sapier.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Southern Methodist Cemetery Fund, PO Box 595, Eutawville, SC, 29048.
