John S. Wiles

HOLLY HILL - John Shingler Wiles, 75, of Holly Hill, husband of Sandra Avinger Wiles, died Thursday, August 28, 2013 in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Target United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward Stiltz and Rev. Barry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. this Friday at Avinger Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jason Zirk, David Walters, Barry Hutto, T.W. Murphy, Mike Coker, and Aaron Wilson. John was born in Cameron, a son of the late Burley W. Wiles and Rosa Lee Rickenbaker Wiles. He worked at R. Barry Hutto Farms and was a member of Target United Methodist Church. John enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters, Sherry Wiles Walters of St. George, and Sharon Lee Harris (Dean) of Holly Hill; a son, John S. Wiles, Jr. (Amanda) of Holly Hill; sisters, Claire Metts (F.M.), and Charlotte Waltz, both of Columbia, Caroline Heaton of Wadesboro, NC, and Lorene Carson of Santee; and grandchildren, Aaron Wilson, Brittany Lynn Felder, Hunter Dean Walters, Rachel Mae Wiles, Angel Marie Wiles, John Shingler Wiles, III, and Hannah Renee Wiles.
