Joan Genry Lewis

Joan Genry Lewis, 84 of Santee, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Born on January 29, 1940 in Maylene, AL Joan was a Daughter of the late Myrtle Price Genry and Gurley Robert Genry.

Joan was a member of Elloree United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir. She enjoyed going out with her friends and family and attending her granchildrens sporting events. Joan was an avid Alabama Football fan. Most importantly she loved her family.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis; her parents and eight of her siblings, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Joan is survived by son, Michael Lewis (Jenny)and their children, Robert (Shaylen), Caitlynn Prickett (Harrison), Reese Butler (Kris), Chandler Lewis, and Cale Lewis; George's children, Russell Lewis (Liz) and their children Noah, Elizabeth Jane, and Camille, Caroline Shuler (Jacob) and their children Hillary (Chap) and Jake (Sydney), and Ben Lewis (Kathy) and their children Michael and Conner (Chloe); great grandchildren, Ansleigh, Banks, Ellison, Essie and soon to be born Elliot; brother, Phil Genry and the rest of her extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Elloree United Methodist Church, 501 W. Barkley St., Elloree.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS research.

The family would like to thank Edisto Hospice especially Brandy, Neally, Danielle, and Ms. Pam for the care they provided.
