Jimmie “Buck” Myers

Jimmie Myers, 82 of Vance, South Carolina, husband of Annette Gleaton Myers passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Born on July 3, 1942, in Orangeburg, Jimmie was a son of the late S.P. Myers and Ethel Myers Rourk

Jimmie was a graduate of Holly Hill High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1967. While serving his country he was stationed in North Carolina and Japan and served as a machinist on C130s. Jimmie worked as a machinist at several different plants before returning to the farm as a part-time farmer, and eventually a poultry grower. He was a lifetime member of Gerizim United Methodist Church. During his life, he loved to hunt and fish. His biggest joy was his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Jimmie and Annette celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 21, 2024. 

Jimmie is survived by his wife Annette; daughter Faye Hutson (David); son Michael Myers (Jennifer); grandchildren Raven Wilder (Camlin), Davis Hutson (Meghan), and Peyton Myers; a great granddaughter Palmer Wilder and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM -3:00 PM at Gerizim United Methodist Church, 1432 Vance Road, Vance. A service will follow at 3:00 PM.

Visitors are welcome at the home.
