VANCE - Jarrod Michael Dickson, 24, of Vance, died Friday, March 1, 2013 as a result of an ATV accident. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Hill with Revs. Gene Ball and Tommy Wolpert officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Risher, Christopher Dowey, Douglas Dickson, Aaron Varnes, Lee Kirby, and Brandon Dickson. Jarrod was born in Orangeburg, a son of Michael Glenn Dickson and Sandra Sullivan Moore Dickson. He was a graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, and attend Central Carolina Technical School. He was a pipe welder with Thompson Construction Co. in Sumter, and truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Diane Moore; maternal grandfather, Roy Sullivan; and paternal grandfather, Rudolph Dickson. Surviving are his fiancAC.e, Amanda Kirby of Vance; his parents of Vance; sons, Nathan Lee Dion of Lugoff, and Jarrod Michael Dickson, Jr. of Vance; a daughter, Kyleigh Lynn Dickson of Vance; a sister, Krystal Diane Dickson of Holly Hill; paternal grandmother, Helen Dickson of Vance; a niece, Kaytin Rayne Risher; and nephews, Raylin Michael Risher, Hunter Ray Risher, and Nicholas Evan Crummie. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and other times at their home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or MUSC Children's Hospital.
