HOLLY HILL - James Edward Shuler, 92, of the Providence Community, widower of Lena "Lee" Bianco Shuler, died Friday, September 13, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Holly Hill. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Martin and Rev. Karen Starr officiating. Burial follow in the Island Cemetery. Mr. Shuler was born in Parler, a son of the late James Allen Shuler and Lena Traxler Shuler. An Army veteran of World War II, he worked at the Providence Farmers Supply for over forty years, and worked at Orangeburg County collection site for 13 years. Mr. Shuler was a life-long active member of Providence UMC. Surviving are daughters, Rose Tawes (Dave) of Holly Hill, Lisa Thomas (Robert) of Bamberg, and Jennie Dodd (John) of Evans, Ga.; grandchildren, Crystal Bunch and Jim Bunch (Holly) of Holly Hill, Marion Floyd (Kate) of Athens, Ga., Daniel Dodd of Evans, Ga., and Emery and Elsa Thomas of Bamberg; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Willow Bunch. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. this Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home.
