Jacob Lee Martinez

Jacob Lee Martinez, 20, of Vance, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Jacob was born on April 6, 2004, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to Lesley Nesbitt Martinez and Joaquin Martinez. From a young age, Jacob brought light and joy to all who knew him with his infectious smile, kind heart, and vibrant personality. He was known for his adventurous spirit, love for his family, and unwavering loyalty to his friends.

A proud member of the Lake Marion High School Class of 2022, after graduating, Jacob began working at Holcim Cement as a handworker, earning the nickname "Mr. Fix-It" for his exceptional skill and determination in solving problems.

Jacob cherished time spent with his family, always eager to lend a helping hand and create lasting memories. He had a special bond with his siblings and shared many laughs and adventures with them. In his free time, Jacob loved playing video games, tinkering with his phone, and enjoying fast cars. He had a special companion in his beloved dog, Porkie, who was always by his side. 

Jacob is survived by his parents; his sister, Shalya Martinez (Bobby); his brothers, Antonio, Codie, and Brayden; his maternal grandmother, Elaine Nesbitt; his uncle, Danny Nesbitt (Nicole); and his cousins, Christina, Hollace, Amber, Melinda, Danny Jr., and Alvie, along with the rest of his extended family. 

Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alvie Nesbit, his paternal grandparents, Lusio and Josephina Martinez, aunt, Rebecca Nesbit.and an uncle Tomas Martinez.

Jacob's life, though tragically cut short, leaves an enduring legacy of love, resilience, and positivity. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

Visitation for Jacob will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home. A celebration of Jacob's life will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Holly Hill.

Rest in peace, Jacob. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
