Italeen Sweatman

Italeen Sweatman, 85 of Harleyville, South Carolina, wife of Danny Sweatman of 68 years, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022.

Born on October 19, 1937 in Florence, SC she was a Daughter of the late Angela Tetter Pigate and Leo Pigate.

Italeen loved to cook and fried chicken was her specialty.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Italeen loved to dance and teaching her children how to dance. She and Danny spent time together camping and fishing and loved their trips to the mountains.

Italeen is survived by her husband; her children, Willis Sweatman (Mary) of Harleyville, Lenward Sweatman of the Providence Community, Hamlin Sweatman (Peggy) of Dorchester, Keith Sweatman (Angie) of St. George, and Becky Infinger (Ronnie) of Dorchester; 14 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; her fury companions Taz and Lucky, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Italeen is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Pigate.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Sweatman, Chad Sweatman, Joe Bright, Andrew Horne, Cody Infinger, and Travis Infinger.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, 5-7PM at Avinger Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Harleyville. The burial will follow at the Harleyville Cemetery. 

Memorials maybe made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Italeen.
