Helen Lee Chapman

VANCE - Helen Lee Chapman, 78, of Vance, widow of George Lucas Chapman, Sr., died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Hospice Center of Charleston, Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Elloree, with Pastor Bryan Fields and Pastor Don Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Santee Cemetery. Mrs. Chapman was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Troy Columbus Lee and Lillian Kirby Lee. A member of the First Baptist Church, Elloree, she enjoyed church work, flower gardening, cooking and entertaining. She was predeceased by brothers, Wilbur and Warren Lee. Surviving are a daughter, Marla (Jeff) Bunn of Goose Creek; a son, George (Christine) Chapman , Jr. of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters, Connie L. Freeman of Timmonsville and Elsie L. Stackley of Florence; grandsons, Cameron Bunn of Goose Creek, Taylor and Michael Chapman, both of Bentonville, Ark.; sisters-in-law, Elma Lee of Coward, Jessie (Bob) Darrah of Pendleton, Ind., and Brenda Chapman of Hartsville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill.
