Hart John Klee

Hart John Klee, 85, of Santee, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

He was born on July 9, 1937 in Rochester, NY.  Hart was a son of the late Chester and  Margaret O'Ray Klee.

Raised in Olean, New York, he graduated from Fordham University and received his MBA at Marquette University.

He married his beloved wife, Helen, on September 29, 1962, and celebrated their 60^th anniversary last year.

Hart was a CPA and worked in public accounting for several years, then was corporate controller for companies in the Milwaukee area and in South Carolina since 1999.  He finished his career by consulting to various companies and grooming their finance teams.

Giving to the community was a life-long passion for Hart.  Since moving to Santee, he volunteered his time and talents to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Santee Cooper Mens Golf Association.  He took great joy and pride in helping build St. Ann's Church and columbarium, working on the annual golf fund raiser, and organizing drivers for doctor appointments and visiting sick spouses. In his free time, Hart enjoyed: golf, rosary, reading, friends, bridge, date nights, poker, and daily texting with friends and family.

Hart is survived by his wife, Helen; his two children, Terry (Kevin) Allison and Chris (Elizabeth) Klee; three grandchildren Douglas Allison, Alexandra Klee and Harrison Klee; two sisters Maggie August and Katie Wenke.  He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Ellen Klee.

A service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023, 11am at St. Ann's Catholic Church (with a Rosary at 10:30).  The internment at the columbarium will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Ann's Catholic Church.
