Harry Raymond Hucks, Jr., 79, of Santee, husband to Irene Perry Hucks of 37 years, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston.
Born on January 20, 1941 in White Hall, South Carolina Harry was a son of the late Harry Raymond Hucks, Sr. and Julia Heaton Hucks Polk.
Harry served honorably in the Army from 1959 to 1966. He achieved the rank of Specialist Class Four and earned the Good Conduct Medal for Sharpshooting. Harry went on to graduate from Wofford College and retired from the American Red Cross and the South Carolina Department of Social Services. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Harry enjoyed talking to people and never met a stranger. He spent his life helping people whenever possible.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by Paul (Charlene) Perry of Carrollton, Georgia, Michelle (Tyrus) Land of Anderson, and David (Kendra) Perry of Lexington. He was a beloved Granddaddy to Zachary, Olivia, Sampras, Chandler, Mason, and Manse.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Florence Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, 332 Cashua Drive, Florence, South Carolina 29501.
