Effie M. Storie EUTAWVILLE - Mrs. Effie Mitchum Storie, 91, of Eutawville, widow of Charlie Storie, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at The Oaks in Orangeburg. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Eutawville United Methodist Church with Rev. Peter Belec officiating. Burial will be in the Eutawville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. this Saturday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. Pallbearers will be Josh Adkins, Walter Kinsey, Daniel Singletary, Chuck Storie, Aaron Revell, and Teddy Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Smith, Jeff Tant, and Glenn Singletary. Mrs. Storie was born in Orangeburg County , a daughter of the late Joseph Snowden Mitchum and Eva Claire Dantzler Mitchum. She was a graduate of Eutawville High School, and worked at the former Two Sisters Shop in Eutawville. Mrs. Storie enjoyed sewing and gardening, and was an active member of Eutawville United Methodist when her health permitted. She was preceded in death by daughters, Jenny Carol Storie and Catherine Etta Storie; and a son, Joseph Storie. Surviving are daughters, Judy (Ray) Kinsey of Holly Hill, and Ruby (Roger) Adkins of Eutawville; a son, Sam (Linda) Storie of Eutawville; sisters, Catherine Senn of Columbia, and Eva Claire Furches (Wayne) Rush of Holly Hill; brothers, Sam (Barbara) Mitchum of Orangeburg, and Kenneth Rast of Kershaw; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
