Edgar R. Sweeny

GOOSE CREEK - Edgar Roy Sweeny, Jr., 82, widow of Mary Ellen Sweeny, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his home. Services will be held privately by the family. Mr. Sweeny was born in Memphis, Tenn., a son of the late Edgar Roy Sweeny, Sr., and Nelle Summers Graves Sweeny. He was retired from the Navy in submarine service as well as a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Sweeny was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Santee. Surviving are a daughter, Coral E. Burish of Goose Creek; a son Hugh W. Sweeny of Mt. Pleasant; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
