Dorothy Epps Jackson Werts, 89 of Elloree passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Magnolias of Santee surrounded by her family.
Born on October 8, 1934 in Greenville Dot was a daughter of the late Lucy Bramlett Epps and James Roy Epps.
After many years as a wife and mother, Dot entered the world of banking and eventually became branch manager of Elloree and Cameron bank branches. Dot also enjoyed gardening, golfing, square dancing and baking sweet treats for her neighbors. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Elloree. Dot truly enjoyed her church.
Dot is preceded in death by her first husband Kirby S. Jackson, Sr. And her second husband Daniel Wallace Werts. Also, her brothers Wade, Ray, Don and Bobby Epps and her sisters Virginia Epps Mattingly and Louise Epps Young.
Dot is survived by her daughter Catherine (Terrell) Jackson Wiles of Canton, NC and her son Kirby S. (Skipper) Jackson, Jr. of Elloree. Her daughter-in-law Renee Jackson of Elloree; grandchildren Brandon and Rachel Wiles, Kyle (Sara) Jackson and Drew (Laura) Jackson; great-grandchildren Blain, Abby and Grayson Wiles and Reagan, Sydney and Eden Jackson. stepchildren Dana (Donna) Werts and Terry Werts and Linda (Rob) Dunn; step-grandchildren Stacy (Ivan) Wilson, Josh Werts, Daniel and Joe Bodie and Jason Dunn and step great-grandchildren Madelyn Wilson, Eli Werts, Addie Bodie and Gwen Casias.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, June 23 at the home, 1505 Midway Road, Elloree, SC. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, June 25 at 2:00 at Elloree First Baptist, 6208 Old Number Six Highway, Elloree, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service in the family room of the church. Burial will conclude at the Santee Cemetery, Elloree.
Those honoring Dot as pallbearers are grandsons Brandon Wiles, Kyle Jackson, Drew Jackson and Josh Werts and nephews Andy Jackson, Ken Jackson and Rusty Bair.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elloree First Baptist general fund or the Kids and Youth fund.
The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolias of Santee and Edisto Hospice for the kind and tender care shown to their mother.
