Diana Jones

Diana Lou Jones, 72, of Summerton, SC passed away on December 12, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

Diana was born in Salem Ohio on August 12, 1950 to Arthur David and Alice Jeane Crawford.

She had two sisters, Jeane Ellen Vesey and Joyce Elizabeth Conn with whom she had a beautiful relationship. Diana spent years traveling the country as a military spouse and especially appreciating when her family was stationed near Ellen Meyer, her dearest friend, although they never let distance separate them, sending letters and making phone calls often. Diana lived a life of her own choosing with strength and grit. Her sons, John Arthur Wertenbach and Daniel Ryan Wertenbach, meant everything to her.

Diana was a humble woman with a sharp whit and keen mind. As a veracious reader, it was hard to suggest a book to her she hadn't already read. She married Enoch Jones on June 24, 2000 and lived a life full of love and especially enjoying baking with him. Diana was a superb baker known for giving out trays of cookies, breads and fudge each holiday season. After losing her husband Enoch in 2009, Diana was very fortunate to find love yet again with Harry Kirschmann, and spent all of her remaining days on the front porch, fishing, going for rides through the mountains, and playing with their beloved puppy Little Bit.

Diana is survived by her love, Harry Kirshmann; her sons, John Wertenbach and Daniel Wertenbach; her daughter-in-love Kristie Wells; her grandchildren Kara Satterfield and Zachary Wertenbach, and her great-grandchildren Vivian and Katherine Lucile Satterfield.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made on her behalf to the American Cancer Society.
