EUTAWVILLE, SC - Mrs. Deborah Flowers Myers, 60, wife of David Byron Myers, passed away July 7, 2012 in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Eutawville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. Debbie was born in Charleston, a daughter of Ernestine Tucker Flowers Monteson and the late William O. Flowers. She had a stellar career as a civilian employee with the US Coast Guard for 39 years, and was named 1993 Federal Employee of the Year in the Greater Charleston Area. Debbie and her husband moved from James Island to his family's farm (Gardensgate Plantation) in 2009. She was a member of Eutawville UMC and enjoyed spending time on the farm with her horses, sheep, donkeys, dogs and cats. In addition to her husband, David of 42 years; she is survived by a daughter, Denise R. Myers of Charleston; a son, David B. Myers, II of Charleston; mother, Ernestine Monteson and her husband, John, of Titusville, Fla.; sisters, Terry (Pat) Heuer of Charleston, Tammy Berg of Mt. Pleasant, and Rhonda (Rusty) Smith of Moncks Corner; brothers, William Flowers, Jr. of Eutawville; and Robbie Flowers of Lexington. Friends may call at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, from 6 to 8 p.m. this Friday evening. The family will also receive friends after the funeral services at their home for a reception.
