David Walter Mears

David Walter Mears, 50 of the Providence Community, Holly Hill, South Carolina died Friday, February 11, 2023 at his home in Midland, Michigan. He is the son of Gayle Lancaster Rush (Emory) and the late Homer D. Mears, Jr.  David was a lifelong member of the Providence United Methodist Church.

David was born April 29, 1972 in Orangeburg.  He graduated from Holly Hill High School. David furthered his career by working with local electricians and finally becoming a licensed electrician.

David is survived by his children: Sara Ann Kasel (Zack), Lindsey Michelle Turcie, Lincoln Mears, and Joshua David Mears; grandchildren, Emma, Nox, Roux, Aubrey and Isobell; brothers, Christopher Homer Mears, Chad Emory Rush, and Paul Derek Rush.  David was predeceased by a brother Aaron Dale Mears.  He is also survived by his companion, Kelly Troutman.

David was a wonderful father to his children.  He loved being outdoors.  Many cousins will miss his infectious smile and joking ways.

Family services will be held privately at a later date.
