David E. West

EUTAWVILLE - David Ellison West 67, of Eutawville, widower of Linda Haselden West, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Eutawville United Church with Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Eutawville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Avinger Funeral Home. Mr. West was a native of Eutawville, son of the late Reuben A. West, Sr. and Mary Ruth Ballentine West. He was a member of the Eutawville United Methodist Church, a former member of the Eutawville Town Council and a member of the Eutawville VFW. Mr. West was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired chemist from Holcim Cement. Survivors are a daughter, Becky (Jim) Jeffers of Charleston; a son, Lt. Col. David E. (Tiffany) West, Jr. of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; grandchildren, Trey West, Caleb West and Jake Barnes; and brothers, Paul F. West, Eutawville, Joseph A. West of Lake City, Fla. and Richard E.
