David Hamilton Clark, 76 of Holly Hill, South Carolina husband of Foye Rush Clark, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
Born on May 9, 1948 in Orangeburg, David was the son of the late John David Clark and Hurchel Shuler Clark.
David graduated from the Baptist College and served two years in the Navy. He farmed with his father for years and then went on to work for Godley Auction Company, Dukes Auction Company and Olde Depot Auction Company. David enjoyed golfing and bird watching with Foye. His favorite activity was traveling. He and Foye enjoyed many cruises together. David was a member of The First Baptist Church of Holly Hill where he served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. David will be remembered for helping individuals in all walks of life. The light of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Jessica Clark.
David is survived by his wife; son Hamilton Clark (Krista); daughter Nicole Johnson (Jason); sister Sylvia Shoptaw (SW); grandchildren Micayla Johnson, Annette, Lyndsey, Megan, and David Clark III; sister-in-law Becky Shipman (Carl); nephews Shawn Shoptaw (Nora), Stacy Shoptaw (Jana), Joshua Shipman (Camren); nieces Susan (Jorge) Miranda and Elizabeth Hetzel (Shawn); great nephews Kaden, Mason, Kelton and Keegan Shoptaw; and the rest of his extended family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 from 10-11am at The First Baptist Church of Holly Hill, Old State Rd. A service will follow at 11AM. Burial will conclude at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Camden Rd. Holly Hill.
Those honoring David as pallbearers will be Mark Behr, Jim Cooner, Eufemio Cruz, Donald Dukes, Robbie Mims, and Mike Ulmer.
The family would like to thank Dr. George Geils and the entire staff of the bone marrow unit of the sixth floor at Roper Hospital downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge, 269 Calhoun Charleston South Carolina, 29401.
