Danny W. Sweatman

Danny W. Sweatman Sr, 87 of Harleyville, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home.

Born on August 8, 1935 in Orangeburg, SC he was a son of the late Madeline Myers Sweatman and Perry Sweatman.

Danny worked for Westbury's Red and White for many years before becoming owner and operator of Sweatman Dock Builders for thirty-eight years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Danny loved going to the mountains with Italeen. He was well known for his BBQ's and hosting for the community. He loved his dogs, Taz and Lucky. 

Danny is survived by sons, Willis Sweatman (Mary), Lenward Sweatman, Hamlin Sweatman (Peggy), and Keith Sweatman; daughter, Becky Infinger (Ronnie); 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Williams; and numerous neices and nephews.

Danny is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Italeen, his parents; brothers, Hamlin Sweatman, Jimmy Sweatman, Perry "Pete" Sweatman, Edward Sweatman, and Reginal Sweatman; and a sister, Dorothy Wiles.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road in Holly Hill, South Carolina. The service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Harleyville First Baptist Church, 211 W Main St in Harleyville, South Carolina. The burial will be held at Harleyville Cemetery in Harleyville, South Carolina.

Honoring Danny as pallbearers will be Joe Bright, Cody Infinger, Corey Shaw, Chad Sweatman, Donnie Sweatman, Stanley Sweatman and John David Watkins. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Catrina Hutson and Agape Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

In  lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harleyville First Baptist Church or any local pet organization.
