Charles Robert Parker, 91, of Eutawville, USN Ret., husband of Mary Lee Day Parker, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hospice Center of Charleston. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Gerizim United Methodist Church, Vance, SC with the Rev. Edward Stiltz officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cross, SC. Charles was born July 17, 1922 in Greensburg, Indiana, a son of the late William and Clara Parker. Charles was a member of Gerizim United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a Mason. He was an avid woodcarver, enjoyed gardening, and traveling. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Parker. In addition to his wife, Mary Lee, he is survived by his daughters Cheryl (Garry) Elmer, Mystic, CT, Lynda (Ken) Connors, Pueblo, CO, step-sons, Lamar (Becky) Day, Rutledge (Carolyn) Day, both of Holly Hill, SC, brother Tom (Helen) Parker, Greensburg, IN, sisters Ruth (Lester) Levell, Chesterfield, IN, Betty Parker, Greensburg, IN, and sister-in-law, Sissy (John) Parker, of Greensburg, IN, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
