EUTAWVILLE - Mrs. Carolyn Platt Johnson, 75, of Eutawville, wife of H. Odell Johnson, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, with Rev. Marshall Locke, Dr. David Brien, and Chaplain Roy Guild officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bamberg County Memory Gardens with Rev. Andy Hunter officiating. Pallbearers will be William Johnson, Chad Johnson, Michael Johnson, Matthew Feaster, Randall Platt, and Glenn Platt. Carolyn was born in Bamberg Co., a daughter of the late Willie W. Platt and Sallie Harley Platt. She was long-time bookkeeper, formerly with Crum and Crum law firm, and retiring from Kearse Manufacturing. Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, and enjoyed shopping. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Johnson of Orlando, FL; a son, Stephen (Melinda) Johnson of Denmark; a brother, Gene (Debbie) Platt of Elloree; and grandchildren, Ashten Johnson, William Johnson, Andrew Godwin, and Mickey Hutson. The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
