Avery Jasper Hinson Jr. (82) of St George, SC passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25 2018, at Hospice of Charleston Inpatient Center. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Frances Ann Avinger of Vance, SC He is survived by: His son, Avery Hinson (Stephanie) of Evans, GA His daughter, Tamela Hinson Taylor (Stan) of Woolwine, VA Grandchildren: Rian Eidson , Katie Taylor, and Devin Hinson Great Grands: Kameron and Landon Eidson His sister, Brenda Hinson Graham (Bill) of Rockingham, NC His best friend and companion Betty Bull Dantzler of St George, SC Born in Fair Bluff, NC, he was the son of Jasper and Katie Hinson Sr., former pastor of First Baptist Church of Holly Hill, SC He attended Holly Hill schools, Furman University, and served 5 years in the Army as a paratrooper in the 101st and 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Old Saint George Baptist Church and Goldwing Road Riders Motorcycle Club of Lexington, SC. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home of Holly Hill, SC followed by a Funeral Service at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM with Zack Farrar officiating. A private family Interment will follow at Avinger Family Cemetery Hwy 6 Santee, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avinger Cemetery fund, PO Box 203, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
