Annie Lee Burbage Singletary, 91, of Ridgeville, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on March 22, 2019. She passed away at home after an extended illness with family members by her side.
Mrs. Singletary was born in Berkeley County, South Carolina on February 21, 1928. The daughter of Linnie Huff and Frank Burbage, widow of Victor Singletary.
She is survived by four children: Linda Harkins, Wayne Singletary (Martha), Peggy Hilton (James) and Charles Singletary (Laraine) all of Ridgeville, SC; Seven Grandchildren Karen Poston (Mike), Kevin Harkins (Pam), Tabitha Weatherford (Ricky), Kristy Hilton, Jamie Hilton, Cody Singletary (Trish) and CJ Singletary; five Great Grandchildren: Amanda Callahan (Patrick), Gary Poston, Lyndsay Poston, Crystal Harkins and Christopher Peagler (Michelle), One Great Great Grandchild: Cason Mobley; Four Nieces; Six Nephews and a Special Friend and Caregiver: Joyce Pringle.
Annie was preceded in death by Two babies; One Grandchild: Kristel Maria Singletary; Two Great Grandchildren: Christian Poston and Jamerson Callahan; Sisters: Rachael Burbage, “Boots” Varnadore and Eunice Mims and One Brother Frank Burbage, Jr.
She was a member of Sandridge First Baptist Church in Ridgeville, SC. Annie loved her family, her church family & her Lord. She loved her church & was a very active member until her later months. She taught Sunday School for over 40 years, was a member of the choir over 50 years and served as the Director of Vacation Bible School for 25 years. Mrs. Singletary was the oldest active WMU member in Sandridge FBC & the Screven Baptist Association. Her love for missions enabled her to go on 10 mission trips. She loved fishing, gardening, and growing flowers. Her greatest joy was raising her family and her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00PM at Avinger Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on March 25, 2019, at Sandridge First Baptist Church, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
