Anne Smith

SANTEE - Mrs. Anne Harding Jett Smith, 83, of Santee, wife of Gerald W. Smith, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at The Church of the Epiphany with Rev. Tom Hendrickson and Rev. John Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill. Mrs. Smith was born in Milledgeville, GA, the daughter of William S. Jett and Estelle Harding Jett. She was a very active member of The Church of the Epiphany and the Daughters of the King. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the DAR, the Colonial Dames, and the UDC. She was preceded in death by a daughter Allyson Harding Lawhorn. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Mellicent (Tim) Wishau of Libertyville, IL, and Courtenay (Dave) Smith of Denver, NC; a son, Gerry (Linda) Smith of Bloomington, IL; brothers, William (Sarah) Jett of Bloomfield, CT, Harriman (Lotta) Jett of Charlotte, NC, and Charles (Jane) Jett of Summerville; grandchildren, Valerie Lawhorn (Robert Lindemann), Robert Lawhorn, Stephanie Lawhorn, Katie Wishau, Jackie Wishau, Gerry (Kelly) Smith III, Anthony Smith, Lindsay Smith, Ashley Smith, Callie Swanlund (Phillip Fackler); and great-grandchildren, Ada and Miles Lindemann, Jackson and Parker Smith, and Elliott and Linus Fackler.
