Alex John Ringo

Alex John Ringo, 74 of Vance, South Carolina, husband of Eileen Ringo passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. 

Born on November 2, 1950 in Ashland, PA Alex was a son of the late Patricia Coleman Ringo and Alex Ringo. 

Alex and his father were the first custom home builders in Ashland, Pennsylvania. A Navy veteran, he moved to Florida after his service on the USS Little Rock. He was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association and one of the founding members of Osceola Riders. He joined The American Legion Post 80 and a lifetime member of The Legion Riders. He was a member of The Florida Trail and Wilderness Trekkers. Alex worked construction and renovation work. He retired from Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida and moved to South Carolina. Alex loved the outdoors. He was always out on his tractor. A gentle man that loved the Lord and in awe of God’s beauty. His smile was contagious and the twinkle in his eye was always there. Blessed to belong to St Mary’s Catholic Church in Summerton and St Ann’s in Santee. He attended Holy Grounds Worship Center. John 14;2-3 says “In my Father’s house there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am.” With his wife by his side, the Lord called him home. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents. Alex is survived by his wife: daughters Karen Ringo and Janice Houser; grandson Shane Berzowski; and granddaughters Sarah Ringo and Emily Ringo and several great grandchildren; three sisters, and several nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held at Holy Grounds Worship Center on March 15, 2025. The Funeral Mass will be April 11, 2025 at St Ann Catholic Church in Santee, with a private burial to follow. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Ann Catholic Church, P.O. Box 250 Santee, SC 29142.
